More of Acetaia vecchia

Here is a picture of a complete battery. All the barrels in the series are lined up. The aceto is moved from the largest barrel to the smallest each year as the contents of the barrels evaporate. The largest barrel is then refilled with cooked must! This is to show the procession but most of the barrels are not organized this way. (Big ones are with big ones, small with small ect.)
Last Wednesday we had some friends over for dinner and here is heli’s first benzone(cake)being cut by Pierino(little Pierre). It is a dry cake, traditional for this reigon. Very dry with jam and for dipping in sweet wine or coffee or milk!
Here we are picking up the grapes! (With Nadia who lives next door) The cart is pulled by the tractor and we go down the rows picking up everything we see shouting bon, buono, bonnie…, to stop and vado, vai, andiamo, dai guido! to go!
